I am delighted to announce that I was the winner of the prestigious PIMA Award given at the Kensington Doll’s House Fair on the 10th May 2019.
In 2018, my amazing daughter bought me a trip to Rome to celebrate a significant birthday. A guided tour of the Vatican Museum took us to ‘The Gallery of Tapestries’, where i feasted my eyes on a sumptuous display of 16th century wall hangings. I decided to re-create one of these tapestries for the PIMA competition, run by The Kensington Dollshouse fair. I stitched the piece with fine silk on 58hpi silk gauze. It measures 156 x 128mm. The charting and stitching took me approx 420 hours. I was delighted to win first place in the competition.
