Having not entered the PIMA (Perfection in Miniature Awards) in 2021, this year i thought i would again submit something. I decided to make a fringed stool or Ottoman. I designed and stitched the intricate, gold and blue scroll design tapestry on 70 count silk gauze with ultra fine ‘Pipers Silks’. There are a total of 27,669 tiny stitches. I made the fringe completely by hand, twisting approx. 190 individual strands of silk and attaching them individually. It was a very challenging piece which took about a month to make.
I was ‘Highly Commended’ for my stool and came third in ‘The Peoples Choice’ vote. Thank you to anyone at the Kensington fair who voted for me.
I sold my little stool and i am currently making another.
